The jobs of five Minneapolis crime prevention specialists are back in the 2012 budget the city announced Thursday.
The City Council and Police Chief Timothy Dolan moved money from the police department’s budget savings this year to finance the positions, the Star Tribune reported, which were previously in danger of being cut.
In addition, the second precinct will be adding a second crime prevention specialist. Carla Nielsen will be moving from the third precinct to help Nick Juarez cover the area, which includes neighborhoods surrounding the University of Minnesota.
