Rove is welcome

Will Dickson

In response to the letter in TuesdayâÄôs Daily in which the writer calls Karl Rove a despicable man, IâÄôve found a few words in defense of Rove. âÄúKing of the College RepublicansâÄù refers to Rove running the national organization at the young age of 22, and âÄúConquering TexasâÄù is in reference to President George W. BushâÄôs unseating of a popular incumbent governor, a tactical endeavor of which every political âÄúarchitectâÄù should take note. Just as Bush won the White House on a Republican ticket after Bill ClintonâÄôs largely successful presidency, so too did the Obama staff demonstrate their mastery of human tendencies in running a campaign that contained little substance, but rather diagnosed the nationâÄôs temperature as a mandate for âÄúchange.âÄù IâÄôd like to hear from anyone, Republican or Democrat, intelligent and fortuitous enough to have engineered the election of a president of the United States. Karl Rove is welcome. Will Dickson, University undergraduate student
