University of Minnesota President-designate Joan Gabel announced the next steps to find the University’s next Executive Vice President and Provost in a campus-wide email Monday.
Gabel said she met with a 16-member search committee in mid-May, and used their discussions as well as input from previous listening sessions and open forums to develop a “position profile” that will be used to select applicants for the position. Recruitment will continue into the summer, facilitated by third-party organizational consulting firm Korn Ferry, which will accept nominations and applications for the position on behalf of the search committee.
Gabel said the search committee will conduct interviews privately later this summer to narrow down the candidate pool. Candidates selected through this process will then be invited to campus for public interviews in the fall, she said.
“Your input and voice during these visits will also be key to a successful search,” Gabel said in the email.
