ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) âÄî More victims from the Interstate 35W bridge collapse in Minneapolis are suing a consulting firm that studied the structure and a contractor that was resurfacing it. Fifteen more lawsuits âÄî comprising 17 plaintiffs âÄî were filed Friday in Hennepin County District Court, according to the Schwebel, Goetz and Sieben law firm. They are similar to four other negligence cases filed in November. All name engineering company, URS Corp., and road builder, Progressive Contractors Inc. The companies deny they were at fault. The cases are moving individually, but could be consolidated as they move toward trial. Among the new plaintiffs is Gary Babineau, whose truck fell with the bridge. He earned personal praise from then-President George W. Bush for helping rescue kids on a school bus.
