Nyquil, Tylenol Cold and Theraflu were scattered on the dresser. It was 4 p.m. Elmo still hadn’t left bed. He wondered about the waxing day he’d missed: the cloudy day that brought a high of 30 and some light snow. As Elmo rolled over he considered venturing out on Saturday, where there could also be snow and a high of 30. He sneezed again. This one hurt. Just then, Elma entered the room and asked, “Is there anything I can get for you?” “Sumb soup ad crackers wud be dice. Ad sumb Kleedex.” “Sure,” she replied. Elmo thought, I’m glad she’s well enough to take care of me. “Waaaaachooo!” echoed from the kitchen. “Uhd oh,” Elmo said quietly and pulled the covers back over his head.
