The body of an adult male was found early Wednesday morning in the Mississippi River, near Ford Parkway Bridge. In a press release, the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office announced that the body remains unidentified.
According to Sergeant John Eastham — a Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office spokesman — a boater discovered the body and called police around 6:15 a.m.
Officers from multiple police and sheriffs’ departments, including the University of Minnesota Police Department, responded to the call. At around 9 a.m., Hennepin County Sheriff’s deputies recovered the body.
The University of Minnesota Police spokesperson could not be reached for comment on their degree of involvement.
