On Friday, Gophers volleyball team announced the addition of Katie Myers, a graduate transfer from the University of Maryland, to its 2020 roster.

Myers, a middle blocker, is the latest addition to the Gophers roster, joining a star-studded freshman class that includes No. 1 overall recruit Taylor Landfair, No. 3 overall recruit Jenna Wenaas, No. 16 overall recruit Melanie Shaffmaster and top-110 recruit Cami Appiani. Myers has two years of eligibility remaining coming off her redshirt sophomore season, where she was a 2019 All-Big Ten selection. Myers is one of four middle blockers on the Gophers roster, after graduating Taylor Morgan, joining rising redshirt senior Regan Pittman and rising sophomores Ellie Husemann and Shea Rubright.

Along with contributing on the court, Myers is continuing her education by pursuing a master’s in sports management. She’s excited to join the Gophers roster and continue her education at the University.

“So excited to announce I’ll be spending my final two years at Minnesota!!! Extremely grateful for my Maryland family and everyone who has helped me along the way. Go Gophers,” Myers said on Twitter Monday.
