No frills, just news:
*The alleged campus-area groper (who has been dubbed the "gopher groper" by some witty news outlets around town), faces seven new charges, the Star Tribune reports. The Daily also has coverage of the alleged groper, one Phillip W. Acosta, 41.
*Remember those "objective" school rankings reported on earlier this week? Well, StateUniversity.com, who bases their ranking on statistics and government data, has added Carleton College in Northfield to the list, placing them at 15, according to the Star Tribune. That will bump the University of Minnesota down to 194 overall, and the U is also second to last among Big Ten schools, the Daily reports.
*Lastly, a "freedom to marry" rally will be held at the State Capitol tomorrow, featuring Rep. Phyllis Kahn, DFL-Minneapolis, and likely students from the University’s Queer Student Cultural Center. MinnPost has an interesting article on Sen. Scott Dibble, DFL-Minneapolis, who will also speak at the event, and how he will make an economic argument for same-sex marriage.
