RED WING, Minn. (AP) – The union representing local teachers on Monday filed an intent to strike, triggering a 10-day cooling off period before they can strike.

Teachers in Red Wing have been working without a contract for 15 months. They voted on Sept. 23 to authorize a strike after deadlocking with the school district over salaries, health insurance premiums, insurance coverage for retirees and severance packages.
