The Minnesota Daily will announce today an interim leader to replace current Editor in Chief Todd Milbourn, who was suspended by the paper’s Board of Directors on Nov. 14.
Daily President and board member Shanna Orr said the interim editor in chief will serve until Milbourn returns Jan. 16. Orr said he was suspended as a “disciplinary measure,” and the newspaper’s policy prohibits further discussion of personnel matters.
“The circumstances surrounding the suspension have been investigated by the Daily staff and board members,” Orr said. “We have put a lot of thought into our decision.”
Milbourn was appointed editor in chief of the Daily – the student newspaper of the University of Minnesota – in April 2002.
Milbourn, along with Orr and Business Manager Joe McKenzie comprise the paper’s Office of the Publisher, which is responsible for managing the newspaper’s day-to-day operations.
