An attempted kidnapping took place in Marcy-Holmes Tuesday morning, according to a campus-wide timely warning.
The suspect attempted to push the victim into the back seat of a car near the intersection of Sixth Street Southeast and 10th Avenue Southeast at 10:31 a.m. The suspect is a male with gray facial hair and wore a gray hoodie and blue pants with a stripe. He fled northward after the attempted kidnapping.
The kidnapping is in line with crime trends for the area. Marcy-Holmes saw a 23 percent uptick in violent crimes from 2018 to 2019.
Minneapolis Police are warning people to use caution in the area.
