A female University student was attacked with a knife at her Como Student Housing apartment late Thursday, according to a University Police report.
The incident was reported to police at 9:20 p.m., about an hour after the assault occurred. Before police arrived, the 31-year-old male suspect left the scene.
Medical emergency staff treated the 29-year-old victim for the knife wound and a University Police detective is conducting an investigation into the stabbing.
The victim did not return phone calls Tuesday. The housing complex is located at 1024 27th Ave. S.E.

In other police news:
ù A car hit a bicyclist at Church Street and University Avenue southeast on Nov. 23, according to a University Police report.
The victim, a 20-year-old University student, sustained injuries to his left knee. An ambulance took the man to Hennepin County Medical Center.
He did not return phone calls Tuesday.
According to the police report, the driver said he thought the walkway was clear when he approached the intersection.
The collision caused minor damage to the front of the car and destroyed the bicycle’s rear tire.

ù On the same day, a car struck another University student near Harvard and Beacon streets southeast, according to a University Police report.
The victim, a 24-year-old graduate student, was brought to Fairview-University Medical Center after the car hit her and she struck her head on the sidewalk.
The driver reportedly made a left turn before seeing the woman fall in the crosswalk.
According to the police report, the windshield’s left side had accumulated snow, possibly obstructing the driver’s vision at the time of the accident.
Neither the victim nor the driver returned phone calls Tuesday.
ù An employee at a Marcy-Holmes neighborhood credit union called Minneapolis police when she encountered a suspicious check Friday.
Authorities determined someone had stolen and forged the check for a large sum of money, according to the Minneapolis police report.
The 27-year-old worker at the Central Avenue Southeast business tried to verify the check’s authenticity by calling the person whose name appeared on the check. The man who held the checking account said he thought it had been stolen, according to the report.
Another of his checks had been stolen and cashed prior to this incident, according to the police report.
The suspect left the credit union before the woman confirmed the check had been forged. The victim could not be reached for comment.
