Dick Clark, the American TV personality known for hosting "American Bandstand" and the yearly "Rockin Eve" New Year's Eve special, passed away Wednesday at the age of 82 from a massive heart attack, ABC News reports.
Clark began hosting music variety shows in 1952, the most notable of which, "American Bandstand" attracted the likes of Elvis Presley, Jerry Lewis, and Chuck Berry. Clark began hosting his "Rockin' Eve" special on ABC in 1972. He has shared hosting duties with Ryan Seacrest since 2004, after suffering a stroke that left him partially paralyzed and made speaking difficult.
