After the 88 second “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” teaser-trailer was released in select theaters and online this past Friday, fans were stumped over many visuals.
For one, the cross-guard lightsaber; another, the soccer ball shaped robot; but perhaps most puzzling: the mysterious voice in the beginning.
Though the voice sounded uncannily similar to that of Benedict Cumberbatch’s in “The Hobbit” series, the voice was confirmed to belong to Andy Serkis.
Serkis is most well known among the sci-fi and fantasy fans for voicing the character of Gollum in “The Lord of the Rings.”
His character in “Star Wars VII,” however, has not been announced.
Most fans would agree that director J.J. Abrams has pulled out the big guns (or light sabers) with this teaser-trailer, and they eagerly await what is yet to come.
