The University of Minnesota announced a new vice president for University and government relations Wednesday.
Pending Board of Regents approval next week, Matt Kramer, the current president and CEO of the St. Paul Area Chamber of Commerce, will oversee the University’s lobbying, public relations, marketing and community relations, according to a Wednesday press release. The job combines the previous leadership positions for the Offices of University Relations and the Government and Community Relations.
“This new structure will achieve efficiencies by bringing marketing, public relations and government and community relations under one leader, and I am confident that Matt can build on the strong foundation already in place,” said University President Eric Kaler in the release. “His lifelong support of the U is a nice bonus.”
Kramer’s last day at the St. Paul Area Chamber of Commerce is Feb. 21.
