A man was robbed at gunpoint around 2:30 a.m. in Marcy-Holmes Sunday morning, according to a crime alert from University of Minnesota Police Chief Greg Hestness.
The victim was unaffiliated with the University and lost his phone and wallet in the robbery, which took place on the footbridge near Van Cleve Park, according to Sunday’s alert.
The victim said four men approached him from behind wearing ski masks, threatened him with a gun and demanded his valuables. The men fled south on 14th Avenue Southeast.
On Friday, a student was assaulted and robbed near Williamson Hall around 11 p.m., according to a Saturday crime alert.
A group of four men approached the student from behind. One of the suspects hit him in the face, chipping his tooth. The suspects then took his wallet, phone and headphones and fled toward Dinkytown.
Three arrests were made two hours later, but a fourth man evaded police, the crime alert said. Police were working to find out if the arrestees are the same men who robbed and assaulted the students Saturday, according to the crime alert.
