A University of Minnesota student was reported missing Monday after being seen with a man suspected in a deadly Burnsville shooting.
The suspected man is now in custody.
Anarae Schunk, a 20-year-old sociology student, was last seen Sunday, according to a press release from the Burnsville Police Department.
The man she was last seen with is a suspect in a Sunday homicide at a Burnsville bar and restaurant, the release said, but he hasn’t yet been charged with a crime.
Schunk is not a suspect in the shooting investigation.
A Burnsville police spokesperson couldn’t immediately be reached for comment.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension posted a missing person alert on its social media accounts Tuesday night, asking anyone with information on Schunk’s whereabouts to contact Burnsville police.
Schunk lived in Burnsville while attending the University but moved into University Commons apartments in Prospect Park about a month ago, her mother, Mariana Schunk, said.
