University Libraries can be a useful source of information for students.
The libraries house more than five million books in its 16-library system. From the libraries, it is possible to access online information from all over the world.
In addition to the two main Minneapolis libraries — Walter and Wilson — several other specialized libraries on campus provide students with discipline-specific resources.
Students can access the library system at home through the University Libraries Web site. The home page, located at www.lib.umn.edu, provides access to information-gathering sources including Lexis-Nexis and Infoseek.
The Minnesota Libraries Resources Center on the West Bank is expected to be completed in November. The Digital Media Center located in Walter Library will be completed by December 2000.
