The Mississippi River is expected to crest Wednesday, with water levels reaching just over 19 feet, at least a foot lower than originally predicted.
The river will likely rise later in the season. Tests done by the National Weather Service showed a 60 percent chance that the levels will be higher than the March 30 crest.
Minor flooding of Raspberry and Harriet Islands can be seen on the City of St. PaulâÄôs website.
The City of Stillwater modified its levee plans because of the reduced water level predictions.
A large snow and ice thaw is not expected this week, pushing the final melt into April and increasing the risk of rapid melting due to temperature, heavy rain or both.
