Minneapolis will not host a Final Four by 2016. The NCAA announced today the winning bids for the 2012-2016 men’s basketball championships. Though Minneapolis didn’t win a spot, the committee decided the losing bids were strong enough to host preliminary-round games during the cycle. Minneapolis is also hosting first and second round games this coming March. Minneapolis hosted Final Fours in 1992 and 2001, both at the Metrodome.
