Some positive news coming out the Minnesota women’s basketball camp, senior Brittany McCoy and sophomore Kiara Buford have earned honorable mentions on the All-Big Ten team.
McCoy averaged 7.0 points per game and was second in the conference with 5.0 assists per game, and third in the Big Ten in steals, averaging 1.14 per game.
Buford, who got off to a fast start to the season, then became bogged down as defenses adjusted to her, began regaining her scoring touch towards the end of the season as she averaged a team-high 13.3 points per game.
Ohio State junior Jantel Lavender was named the Big Ten player of the year for the third consecutive season. Michigan State senior Allyssa DeHaan was named the conference’s defensive player of the year.
