Podium finishes, event titles, All-Americans, perfect 10s.
The list just keeps on going for Gophers junior Lexy Ramler. She now adds another prestigious honor to the list after being named the Region 2 Gymnast of the Year for the second season in a row.
Ramler was well deserving of the award after she finished the season ranked No. 1 on beam. She finished with a national qualifying average of 9.975 and recorded not one but two perfect 10s and in back-to-back meets.
“It’s very cool, I’m very honored,” Ramler said. “To be named that second year in a row means a lot in order to represent Minnesota in that way. You’re being recognized for all the hard work, so it really means a lot.”
She posted two more career-highs on vault and bars for which she scored 9.950 and 9.975 respectively. She finished No. 6 in the country on bars. Though she didn’t set a new career-high in the all-around, she ranked No. 8 with an NQS of 39.545.
Ramler is going into her last season as a Gopher having improved year after year. She added on three more regular season All-Americans and won 15 event titles throughout this season. She also was named a finalist for the Honda Sport Award.
