Two major University of Minnesota transit areas will experience closures in the next month for light rail testing and Washington Avenue bridge construction projects.
Crews will conduct overnight tests for electromagnetic interference and vibration beginning Thursday, Aug. 8, closing surrounding roads and sidewalks. The tests will take place from 1 a.m. to 5 a.m. until late September.
The eastbound lane on the Washington Avenue Bridge will be closed from Aug. 12 until Aug. 16 for final construction work. The westbound lane will be closed the following week. Campus Connector stops will change during both closures.
More information on construction and how it affects bus routes and closures is available at this Metropolitan Council page.
