With career-best performances last Saturday night, Gophers junior quarterback Adam Weber and senior defensive tackle Garrett Brown were honored as the Big Ten Offensive and Co-Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, the Big Ten Conference announced on Sunday.
Weber completed 19-of-31 passes for a career-high 416 passing yards and tied a career high with five touchdown passes. He also became Minnesota’s all-time leading passer, moving past Bryan Cupito (2003-06) at 7,446 yards and bringing his own career total to 7,509 yards.
Brown made a career-high seven tackles, including three for a loss. He also forced and recovered a fumble in the first quarter against Michigan State. Brown became the third Gopher (joining senior linebacker Lee Campbell on Sept. 5 at Syracuse and senior linebacker Nate Triplett on Sept. 12 ) to earn part of a Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week award.
