Note: a previous version of this blog post incorrectly reported the number of casualities from the explosion. Reports have been varied and conflicting, and the post has been updated to reflect that uncertainty and the latest casuality numbers.

A fertilizer plant explosion in West, TX has killed between five and 15 people and injured 160 more.

Ammonia fumes are reportedly spreading, forcing the 2,700 population town to evacuate.

Emergency crews from across the state have been called in to respond to the fire, destruction and injuries.
