Minneapolis Police arrested a man suspected of committing double homicide in Marcy-Holmes on Monday. 

MPD arrested and booked the man in suspicion of committing the double homicide of 67-year-old Eileen Mark and her 42-year-old daughter Jennifer Angerhofer, according to John Elder, an MPD spokesperson.

The mother and daughter were killed Saturday evening in Mark’s apartment in the Holmes Park Village Apartments located in the Marcy-Holmes neighborhood near the University of Minnesota campus. The Star Tribune reported that the suspect is a 46-year-old man who lives in a unit adjacent to Mark’s.

The same report states that the suspect was arrested Monday evening near the intersection of East Hennepin Avenue and University Avenue Northeast. 

According to jail records, the suspect was taken into custody at the Hennepin County Jail Monday evening at about 9:30 p.m. He was booked on charges of probable cause murder. 

Charges are expected to be filed Wednesday, according to the Star Tribune.
