System problems cause email service outage

Approximately 7000 University of Minnesota students, staff and alumni have been unable to access their accounts since Friday night. The problem first occurred around 10 p.m. and persisted throughout the weekend.

Engineers are currently pursuing two different recovery options. The best-case estimate is for Tuesday night, but the process may not be finished until Thursday morning.
