Daily Digest: ‘Probable’ swine flu case in MN

As you’ve probably seen on our website and everywhere else, the big news of the day is a reported "probable" swine flu case in Cold Spring, Minn. Here’s more:

State officials say they’re prepared for flu: The Star Tribune is reporting that state officials are confident they are well prepared for the swine influenza, which has led to two school closures in Cold Spring and one probable case. Gov. Tim Pawlenty said at a press conference that this is a "sign for concern…not a sign for panic."

Toddler in Texas first U.S. swine flu death: A Mexican toddler who came to the U.S. with family to visit relatives died in Houston of the swine flu Wednesday. President Obama said schools with confirmed or suspected cases should strongly consider closing temporarily, according to the New York Times.
