I have no connection to the University of Minnesota or the columnist, and I went to a college too small for greek communities. Before (and after) reading Jennifer BissellâÄôs column, I had no significant opinion of the merits of the greek system. Yet, it was when I read the mean-spirited attacks in the online comments section where some true colors showed. If I were one of the reasoned and persuasive defenders of fraternities and sororities, I would be ashamed at my fellow greeks for resorting to servile ad-hominem. It is easy to hide behind the anonymity of a username as an individual, but keep in mind that your comments may represent something larger than yourself. Matt Steele Daily reader
