The AP has reported that President-elect Barack Obama will choose Illinois Rep. Rahm Emanuel as his chief of staff in the White House. Meanwhile, Politco reports Obama is considering Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to head the Environmental Protection Agency and Colin Powell for secretary of Defense or Education. Kennedy’s cousin, Caroline Kennedy, is being considered for U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, according to Politico. Emanuel was a political and policy adviser to President Clinton during his term and Colin Powell served in the Bush White House. Both stories come from campaign officials who remained unnamed in the reports.
