Jean Johnson, 63, wife of David Johnson, the University of Minnesota-Morris chancellor, died of cancer Friday.
Johnson was an English teacher and secretary who later completed library studies and began her favorite work — serving in the reference departments of the public libraries in St. Cloud and Mankato.
She is survived by her husband and her daughter, Jennifer, and son, Andrew. Memorials are preferred, and should be dedicated to the libraries at Luther College, in Decorah, Iowa; Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minn.; or the University of Minnesota-Morris. The visitation will be 8 p.m. today at the Pederson Funeral Home in Morris with services at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Morris’ Assumption Catholic Church. Internment will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Lutheran Cemetery in Decorah, Iowa.
