In what has so far been a back-and-forth, fast break intensive game, the Minnesota women’s basketball team goes into halftime with a 30-26 lead over No. 20/17 Ohio State.
The Gophers have looked more intense and excited to play in the first half, causing 11 Ohio State turnovers.
Buckeyes star-center Jantel Lavender left the game midway through the first half after she picked up her second foul on a hack of Gophers center Zoe Harper.
Lavender has only four first half points.
Most of Minnesota’s points have been on fast break layups, but both teams have equally gone up-and-down the court in this up-tempo game.
Gophers guards Emily Fox and Brittany McCoy are looking to push it up and take it to the rim every time, and so is Ohio State’s freshman point guard Samantha Prahalis.
All of Minnesota’s regular players are contributing, as six players have four points or more.
