The Minnesota Gophers baseball team will play the first ever game at Target Field on March 27, the Minnesota Twins announced today. The Gophers will host the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs at 1 p.m. that day. General admission tickets will cost only $2, but only 25,000 will be sold. Tickets go on sale at the Target Field ticket office beginning at 8 a.m. that day. Proceeds go to the Minnesota Twins Community Fund. The Gophers are 2-1 this season. In a statement Wednesday, Coach John Anderson thanked the Twins for the “special relationship” the two teams share. The nearly-40,000 seat Target Field officially opens on April 12 when the Twins host the Boston Red Sox. Tickets for regular season games go on sale at March 13.
