The University of Minnesota Comedy Team won the stand-up portion of Rooftop Comedy’s 2009 National College Comedy Competition on Saturday.

The team, made up of Linda Aarons, Trevor Anderson, Andy Erikson, and Bradford Paik, survived the six rounds of the competition, and was granted an all-expenses-paid trip to perform at the Aspen Rooftop Comedy Festival in Colorado.

The other three finalists, which also got to travel to Aspen to compete in the finals and made up the “Funniest 4” along with the U’s team, were the University of Florida, Emerson University, and the University of California at Berkeley.

The Minnesota students performed at the Festival on Saturday, where both audience members and online viewers could vote live.  With the most votes, the U students were named “The Country’s Funniest College Students.”
