After the success of last year’s H&M collaboration with Isabel Marant, fashion enthusiasts have been anxiously waiting to hear who will collaborate with H&M in 2014. At the Coachella Music Festival, it was revealed that Alexander Wang, designer of the eponymous label and the creative director for Balenciaga, will be the next designer collaboration. This is the first time H&M has paired with an American designer. The collection will be available in about 250 stores and online on November 6.
In other fashion news, Joe Zee, who you may remember from “The City,” will be leaving Elle Magazine after seven years as the creative director. Today he announced that he will be the next editor in chief and executive creative director of Yahoo Fashion as well as the editor at large for Yahoo Beauty, which is currently run by makeup mogul Bobbi Brown. This is a bold move for Zee, with many people doubting Yahoo Fashion’s ability to compete with well-established fashion publications, both online and in print.
With Zee’s departure, Elle will be looking for a new creative director. Speculations abound, but we will probably know for sure in the next few weeks. Whoever it is, he/she sure has some big (and inevitably stylish) shoes to fill.
