A University of Minnesota student was robbed at gunpoint Nov. 18, mirroring incidents earlier in the month.
According to Minneapolis police, three suspects approached the student from behind and pushed him to the ground at 10:30 p.m. Friday. One suspect aimed a handgun at the victimâÄôs head and demanded valuables. The other suspects held the victim down and searched his pockets.
The robbery happened in the Marcy-Holmes neighborhood near campus, on Seventh Street Southeast between 13th and 14th avenues southeast.
The victim was not injured, but the three got away with several valuable items.
The suspects are described as black males, approximately 17 to 21 years old, and more than 5 feet 7 inches tall. The suspect holding the gun was reported wearing a black jacket and dark clothing and had short hair.
Two other robberies have been reported this month, both occurring on Eighth Avenue Southeast. University police caution students to be aware of their surroundings and avoid walking alone when possible.
