Before I vote this November, I want to be informed about the candidates.
I know Republican gubernatorial candidate Tom Emmer is a small business owner. He understands what it’s like to struggle to get a business going, to make payroll and to support a family. Emmer knows that the most important issue is getting Minnesotans back to work, encouraging a strong business environment and entrepreneurship. Emmer knows that state government will not create jobs for Minnesotans, and raising taxes will only add to the problems facing Minnesota.
I know that former U.S. Sen. Mark Dayton, the democratic gubernatorial candidate, is the exact opposite of Emmer. Dayton was born with a silver spoon in his mouth and is part of the upper class. Dayton does not understand the struggles of regular Minnesotans. Dayton will expand government spending and discourage job growth. Dayton can afford to buy his way into politics, but Minnesota cannot afford Dayton as governor.
