A University of Minnesota Board of Regents committee approved a plan Tuesday to begin construction on the TCF Bank Stadium to accommodate the Vikings coming in the fall. The full board will vote on the recommendation Friday.
Structural changes include expanding seating capacity, equipping the stadium for Minnesota’s January weather by installing heated turf and modifying concessions stands.
The $6.6 million construction project, which the professional football team will pay, will start in March and last until August.
