A sexual assault occurred Sunday near the University of Minnesota East Bank campus, according to a campus-wide security alert sent Tuesday.
The assault took place on the 1600 block of University Avenue Southeast at around 3 a.m. The case was recently reported to the Minneapolis Police Department, the alert said.
The suspect was described as a male, wearing grey sweatpants and a black sweater. He appeared to be in his 20s and had a chinstrap beard.
