NBC's "The Voice" returned on September 10th for its third season to give unknown singers a chance at fame and Carson Daly a steady job. "The Voice" steers away from the William "Hung-esque" auditions and focues on realisic contenders distinguishing itself from American Idol. Yet, this doesn't mean the judges are any less obnoxious.
On September 18th NBC announced coaches CeeLo Green and Christina Aguilera will be replaced next spring for the fourth season. Aguilera is taking a break from the show to promote her new album "Lotus", while Green is dedicating his time off to develop new music and a sitcom based on his own life for NBC. Sadly, as talented as Christina Aguilera is, if her new video for "Your Body" is any indication of the quality of her new album, she should stay put on that big red chair. Also, a show based on CeeLo's life? That is just weird.
Shelton and Levine will continue to coach next spring and will be joined by new coaches Shakira and Usher. While Shelton is most likely drunk throughout the episodes, and Levine is disgustingly arrogant, at least with the new change we can expect the season four coaches to have an actual grasp on reality.
As season three has only begun we have a long wait for sexy new coaches Usher and Shakira. In the meantime, we'll just have to deal with the oddness of CeeLo Green and his pet parrot, and the ongoing rants and distracting cleavage of Christina Aguilera.
