Twitter CEO Dick Costolo recently said he’s toying with the idea of paying people to tweet.
The Wall Street Journal reported that Costolo is open to the idea of sharing revenue with tweeps who post interesting content.
He said at the Web 2.0 summit in San Francisco he wouldn’t pay them for each tweet posted, adding “our thoughts are a little more nuanced.”
This comes days after Twitter gained its “tweet” trademark, settling a lawsuit filed against Des Moines-based Twittad.
The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office previously suspended Twitter’s attempts to trademark the term beginning in April 2009, according to The Wall Street Journal.
