Reading about students openly smoking joints didnâÄôt surprise me; I was smelling marijuana when I first walked through the Mall at 12 p.m. Tuesday. WhatâÄôs surprising is that University police Chief Greg Hestness is apparently unaware of the significance of April 20. This is pretty concerning considering the population heâÄôs policing. How many students here would claim that their parents donâÄôt know what 4/20 is? Hestness is either out of touch with students today or playing dumb, and neither is all that desirable.
