Tobias started the tournament by winning extremely close matches against first-round opponent Igricio Taboada of Miami and second-round opponent Sinsia Markovic of Texas Tech . On Wednesday, things were looking up for the Gophers singles front man as he entered the third round of qualifier play. Wernet met his match, however, as he was brought down by VirginiaâÄôs 26th seeded Houston Barrick (6-3) (6-2).
