University of Minnesota head volleyball coach Hugh McCutcheon has added Laura Calouri and Carly Rasmussen to the 2014 roster.
Calouri, a 6-foot outside hitter from Switzerland, played with two different age groups of the Swiss Junior National Team in addition to the Volley Toggenburg in the Swiss National Division A until 2012.
"I have never been to America before," Calouri said in a release. "That's why it's important for me to feel welcomed in my team as well as at the University itself. With the University of Minnesota, I have chosen a very well-organized institutions with great opportunities for me as a transfer student."
Minnesota also added 5-foot-7-inch setter Rasmussen to the team.
Rasmussen was a four-year volleyball letter winner at Canyon Crest Academy and helped her high school advance to the to the state quarterfinals her junior year.
"I first chose Minnesota because of the amazing academic opportunities in a big city," Rasumessen said in the release. "The fact that I now have the honor of playing for such a great coach with awesome players in the sport I love just makes it even more exciting."
The Gophers begin their season at home on Aug. 29th against Notre Dame.
