University of Minnesota-bound Wisconsin students may see a tuition hike due to a change in the tuition reciprocity agreement.
The agreement allows Wisconsin students to attend Minnesota higher education institutions through a state-paid subsidy.
On Tuesday Forbes reported that Wisconsin Legislature’s budget committee unanimously approved to eliminate the funding to the program. If passed by the legislature the change leaves a $1,400 gap for Wisconsin students wishing to attend University of Minnesota starting 2012.
Current students and students accepted to attend in the 2011 fall semester would not be affected.
