A gas line was purged near Phillips Wangensteen Building and Moos Tower, causing intermittent odors of natural gas around 4:00 p.m.
People should be aware of the odor, however, there is no reason to be concerned, University police Deputy Chief Chuck Miner said.
The odor was affiliated with the construction near the Mayo circle, Miner said.
It was present both outside and inside of the buildings and is expected to dissipate shortly.
The Department of Environmental Health and Safety will continue to monitor the area, according to TXT-U.
