Three days after Wednesday nightâÄôs key health care address to Congress, President Barack Obama will hold a rally at the Target Center in Minneapolis on Saturday. Obama will discuss health insurance reform, emphasizing bringing âÄústability and securityâÄù to the insurance industry, according to a news release. In the past, Obama has pointed to Minnesota institutions like the Mayo Clinic in Rochester as models for containing health care costs. âÄúWe should ask why places like the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio and institutions can offer the highest quality care at costs well below the national norm,âÄù Obama wrote in a June letter to Sens. Ted Kennedy and Max Baucus. Obama has visited the Target Center before, holding a campaign rally before a packed crowd in February 2008. SaturdayâÄôs speech is free and open to the public. Doors will open at 9:30 a.m. and the program will start at 12:30 p.m.
