The University of Minnesota’s Delta Upsilon house was found vandalized Friday after the chapter’s controversial return to campus.
Fresh spray paint appeared on the house’s façade, where the chapter’s suspension ended last month after sexual assault allegations.
In a bold red paint the letters “PTS” can be seen followed by a striking blue letter “D” attached to the Upsilon “U,” mimicking the logo of the chapter.
The fraternity remains on probation due to sexual assault allegations from the spring semester.
Dawson Kimyon, former member of DU and one of those who initially raised concern over the chapter’s conduct, said he “was not surprised, not at all, especially once they put their letters back up.”
The fraternity still resides in the house, but will leave in August because they cannot afford to renew the lease, Kimyon said.
The Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life could not immediately be reached for comment.
