The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources will use dogs and hunters to find and kill the bear that attacked a University researcher Sunday.
Dennis Stauffer, spokesman for the DNR, said on Wednesday morning a group of approximately four hunters will start looking for the bear in the area of the attack – a wildlife management area 10 miles north of Milaca, Minn.
A trap that was set following the attack was unsuccessful in capturing the bear, and Stauffer said hunting the bear is the DNR’s best option.
Miles Becker, the University employee who suffered a broken leg and head wounds in the attack, was released from the hospital Tuesday, a University spokesperson said.
