Iowa head football coach Kirk Firentz is staying at the school through 2015, the school announced Thursday.
The details of the contract have yet to be disclosed, but a school official told media that Ferentz’s salary will not be changing. He made $2.84 million last season, according to ESPN.
His contract was set to end after the 2012 season before the extension. Rumors swirled at the end of last year that he might be a candidate for the Cleveland Brown’s head coaching job.
Ferentz’s Hawkeyes have won 7 out of their last 8 against the Gophers.
